FairCare

FairCare helps elderly persons, but also their relatives and friends, to find the different formal and informal care services in their own region.

FairCare was developed to make it easier for older people and their relatives to access regional services and support schemes. The web-based platform connects professional carers, everyday service providers, volunteers, older people and their families, thereby creating a central point of contact for information and support.

The aim of the project was to maintain the quality of life of older people and enable them to live independently in their own homes for as long as possible. At the same time, the project aims to ease the burden on relatives and care facilities by making it easier to find and coordinate relevant services and support.

Impact in practice

FairCare demonstrates how digital platforms can help to raise the profile of support services and facilitate collaboration between different stakeholders in the health, care and social sectors. By bringing together regional services on a single platform, the effort involved in searching for services and barriers to information are reduced.

The underlying social franchise model promotes collaboration between professional service providers, voluntary organisations and family members. This creates new opportunities to support older people in their daily lives and to promote their independence and social participation in the long term.
