Findings from national and international pilot studies (West-AAL, gAALaxy and i-evAALution) conducted by the University of Innsbruck’s Department of Assistive Technologies for Care and Quality of Life in Old Age have shown that ‘simplicity’ is a key criterion for the sustainable use of innovative solutions. Behind this lie a wide range of factors which, in the context of digitalisation in the care sector, bring with them new requirements and challenges.
